School Curriculum

CBSE curriculum is followed at DPS because of its affiliation with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). CBSE is India's giant examination board. This curriculum is used for all sections.

The Curriculum for KG is drawn by keeping their needs and requirements in mind. Their motor and critical thinking skills are developed at this stage and taught using different techniques like games and abilities. They are given basic concepts.

Things get a little advanced in the primary section, and students' intellectual and personal abilities are used to develop the following skills.

  • Communication skills
  • Reading Skills
  • Viewing Skills
  • Listening Skills
  • Writing Skills

Teachers are highly qualified and use the latest teaching methodologies like storytelling, music, and other techniques to involve students in studies with more attention. The last stages of primary school are critical as they are the base for middle school. Students are introduced to several new concepts. These concepts are taught in various ways so that students have a tighter grip on them for the rest of their lives.

In the middle section, the following are the primary subjects:

  • Social Studies
  • Science
  • Mathematics
  • Language

The 1st language is English, and 3rd language is Arabic. Following are the choices for the selection of a 2nd language:

  • Urdu
  • French
  • Hindi
  • Tamil
  • Malayalam
  • Other subjects include:
  • Islamic Studies
  • Moral Science

Students are awarded grades depending on their academic performance and behavioral and extra-curricular involvement.

KG students' grading is based on their daily behavior and class involvement. They are assessed daily, and their parents are informed about their behavior daily. When the term ends, students are awarded according to subject-wise performance. Their performance in co-curricular activities is also noted.

Primary school students are observed daily. Teachers keep track of their performance daily. Assessment of each subject takes place every week, and students need to appear in formal testing at the end of both grades. The teachers align monthly reports of students, and their performance is sent home every month. The report sent at the end of the term is more detailed, and students are graded for each subject.

Students from grades 3 to 5 are also observed daily, and teachers keep track of their performance. Assessment of each subject takes place every week, and students need to appear in formal testing at the end of both grades. Then students appear in half-year and final exams on which their final report is based.

The same is the case with 6th and 7th graders.
